A lockdown shouldn’t lock out learning

The last few weeks have reduced our routines, plans and rituals to dust. Our kids, who rely so heavily on regularity for their peace of mind, are getting increasingly unsettled by all the strange happenings around them.

Although we have just begun our 21-day nationwide lockdown, we are by no means alone. Amazing publications, organisations and people are coming forward with gems to help parents of children with autism tackle the crisis.

Autism Parenting Magazine, a publication for parents of children with autism as well as professionals has generously shared a series of articles to help us through the next few weeks.

The first, titled How do I manage the coronavirus scare as a parent of a child with autism’ offers 8 tips that cover everything from talking about it to the right way to wash hands. They’ve also got a fun chart that you can print out and stick above the sink as a visual cue.
